The race to lift the glitterball trophy is finally upon us
18th December 2020

This Saturday sees another Strictly Come Dancing Final, but which couple are the favourite to take the coveted Glitterball Trophy?

This year the race for the top spot is a tightly fought showdown of four very deserving celebrities and their partners; Bill Bailey with Oti Mabuse, HRVY and Janette Manrara, Maisie Smith and Gorka Marques and Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer.

According to current bookmakers Bill Bailey seems to have the best odds of being crowned champion of the BBC One dancing extravaganza with Jamie’s odds suggesting he will be the first one eliminated, but it is still anyone’s for the taking.

Starting at 6pm on Saturday night (19th Dec), BBC One, the couples have until 8.20pm to show us what they’re made of with the champion being announced on Saturday evening at the end of the live show.

All four couples will have to dance 3 dances, two of which they have already performed at an earlier point in the competition, including a samba from Maisie and Gorka, a quickstep from Bill and Oti, a jive from HRVY and Janette and a Charleston from Jamie and Karen.

There will also be music from Robbie Williams and another fabulous performance from the professional dancers, what’s not to love about that.

Strictly floor

Whoever wins the eagerly anticipated show on Saturday night, the true winner for us and the unsung hero of the show has been the fully sprung Harlequin Liberty Ballroom floor from the renowned range of Harlequin sprung floorsHarlequin Liberty Ballroom is printed with an elegant wood effect and protected by a hard wearing lacquer. It has looked amazing reflecting all the projected images throughout the series.

Having a sprung floor means the dancers’ limbs and joints were given greater protection when carrying out lifts and jumps, and the lacquered surface offered just the right amount of traction allowing the dancers to glide and turn without the risk of slips or falls.

As well as the fabulous main floor, dancers have also trained backstage on Harlequin Fiesta, a performance vinyl floor with a wood effect finish.

So join us on the sofa and let’s all judge together who should be crowned the deserving winner of Strictly 2020.
