Borne to Dance 2023

8th December 2023

Borne to Dance was held at the Banqueting House in London this year to raise vital funds for Borne.

Borne is a medical research charity focusing on pioneering research into the prevention of preterm birth. Borne to Dance is an annual event, hosted by Borne, in order to raise funds for the charity.

Michael Nunn OBE, former Royal Ballet dancer and co-founder of BalletBoyz, hosted the event alongside Dame Darcey Bussell DBE, former Principal with The Royal Ballet. Michael and Darcey have been ambassadors and patrons of Borne for a number of years.

Dancers from the Royal Ballet School, Rambert School, English National Ballet, Royal Ballet and the Birmingham Royal Ballet all performed on a Harlequin Liberty sprung floor with a Harlequin Cascade vinyl performance top surface.

Michael Nunn OBE said: “Harlequin floors are a staple of any dance event – the reliability and level of quality is unmatched and as long as we’ve got a Harlequin floor, we can make anything work anywhere!”

The CEO of Borne, David Badcock, said: “We are so grateful to Harlequin for supporting Borne to Dance 2023. The evening was a spectacular celebration of dance, hosted by Dame Darcy Bussell and Michael Nunn, to raise money in support of Borne.”

Borne’s research aims to put in place early screening to identify those at risk, and to develop new treatments to delay the onset of preterm labour when complications arise. Its laboratory work is being translated across a range of clinical studies taking place today. If you’d like to donate to Borne, head to the website for further information.
