Hong Kong Dance Theatre Invests in Harlequin Floors to Support Safety and Training Standards
12th November 2025
Newly established ballet hub prioritises safety, performance and community engagement in Wong Chuk Hang.
Founded in 2024, Hong Kong Dance Theatre has quickly established itself as a dedicated hub for ballet education and community outreach across Hong Kong. With a mission to inspire and transform lives through dance, the organisation is committed to making arts education accessible to all.
At the heart of its studios is a focus on dancer safety. Hong Kong Dance Theatre has installed a Harlequin Flexity sprung floor with a Harlequin Cascade performance surface, along with Harlequin ballet barres, providing an ideal environment for both professional dancers and students to train.
A spokesperson for Hong Kong Dance Theatre said dancer safety is one of their top priorities:
“Our studio is open to all dance lovers, from professional dancers to young students. The Harlequin floors help to ensure safety, support dance techniques and enable dancers to perform at their best.
We want our students to not only improve their skills but also feel confident and inspired every time they step into the studio.”
Beyond technical training, the organisation emphasises community engagement. Through ongoing initiatives, Hong Kong Dance Theatre provides opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds to explore creativity, build confidence and express themselves through dance. By opening its doors to all, the theatre aims to cultivate both artistic skill and personal growth.
Located in Wong Chuk Hang, the theatre is part of a growing network of dance and cultural institutions across Hong Kong. Looking ahead, Hong Kong Dance Theatre plans to expand educational programmes and host performances that showcase the dedication and skill of its students.
Hong Kong Dance Theatre continues to inspire the next generation of dancers and contribute to the continued growth of Hong Kong’s vibrant arts scene.
