Emil Dale Academy relocated to Letchworth to allow for the expansion of its facilities, providing more studios, equipment and training spaces for its musical theatre students.
The new home of Emil Dale Academy covers 56,000 square feet across two stories, doubling the size of its previous facility in Hitchin.
Emil Dale Academy opened its doors in September 2024, hosting an open-house event to welcome students and locals in the Letchworth area.
The performing arts school has eight studios, including a studio theatre, with Harlequin floors and ballet barres. Seven studios are equipped with a Harlequin Flexity sprung floor with a Harlequin Standfast top surface. The eighth studio, named the Harlequin Studio, has a Harlequin Flexity sprung floor and a Harlequin Cascade performance vinyl floor.
Principal of Emil Dale Academy, Victoria Hammond, said: “It was important to us to fully renovate all of the spaces with the highest spec possible, so it was a go-to for us to go to Harlequin. The students do a lot of jazz, tap and commercial dance, and therefore wear lots of different shoes, so it’s important to us that the floors are hard-wearing, good quality and safe.”
Emil Dale Academy has a number of other studios that are used for singing lessons and musical workshops. Other facilities include a private garden, a relaxation lounge and a physio room.
Emil Dale Academy alumni have gone on to star in West End productions such as Cabaret, Mamma Mia! and Hamilton.
