Wicked: From Rehearsals to the Big Screen

Dancers, choreographers, designers, musicians and countless behind-the-scenes professionals all played a part in bringing Wicked to the screen. Harlequin is proud to have supported the rehearsal process that helped the cast and creatives perfect their choreography.

Wicked: For Good is now officially out in cinemas worldwide. Bringing Wicked (Part 1) and Wicked: For Good (Part 2) to life required an extraordinary amount of preparation, including extensive rehearsal time in the UK long before cameras began rolling.

With a large ensemble of dancers and highly detailed choreography, it was essential that the cast trained in a safe and professional environment.

Harlequin’s UK team installed a Harlequin Flexity sprung floor topped with a Harlequin performance vinyl surface, creating the ideal space to support the cast through every step of the rehearsal process.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, these two films brought the beloved stage musical to the big screen with an ensemble cast led by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, alongside Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater and Bowen Yang.

Our team has been eagerly awaiting the release of both Part 1 and Part 2 and are proud to have played a small but meaningful role in supporting this number 1 global box-office hit.
