The One Dance UK Awards celebrate those influencing the UK dance sector, highlighting the contributions of artists, educators, choreographers, venues, and others who contribute to the dance community.
Back for its seventh year, the One Dance UK Awards 2025 took place at The Patrick Studio, Birmingham Hippodrome earlier this year.
One Dance UK chose to incorporate the awards into the Talking, Thinking, Dancing programme of events from 22-24 January. The events focused on choreographic research and performance, while offering opportunities to network and engage in insightful discussions.
The One Dance UK Awards on 24 January started with a panel discussion with FABRIC, People Dancing and Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage and Equity. The panel explored dance in the Midlands and looked at the current state of dance in the UK and its future.
After the panel discussion, the awards ceremony provided an opportunity for nominees and attendees to celebrate one another, featuring the presentation of various awards and performances from Propel Dance, Linden Dance Company and Sampad Arts.
Harlequin was the silver sponsor and presented the Artistic Innovation in Dance Award, the Research in Dance Award and the Health & Wellbeing in Dance Award.
One Dance UK Chief Executive, Andrew Hurst MBE, said: “We would like to offer our most sincere thanks to our friends at Harlequin. Harlequin are global leaders in the dance world, and we are incredibly grateful to them for their continued support, without which our Awards would not be possible. This support has a far-reaching impact across the dance ecology, enabling us to engage with more people and amplify the amazing work of our members and the broader sector.”
Harlequin would like to thank One Dance UK for another great event and congratulate all of this year’s nominees and the winners who continue to inspire and shape the future of dance.
