Harlequin Floors Supports the Castilla y León Performing Arts Awards 2025

The Premios Artes Escénicas de Castilla y León (Castilla y León Performing Arts Awards) 2025 took place last month, showcasing the region’s top talent in theatre, dance and performing arts.

Organised by ARTESA (Artes Escénicas Asociadas de Castilla y León) and supported by the Junta de Castilla y León, the Diputación de Burgos and the Ayuntamiento de Burgos, the awards ceremony celebrated creativity and excellence in the performing arts sector.

Harlequin Floors España was proud to sponsor this year’s event, highlighting its ongoing commitment to supporting artistic innovation and professional dance spaces across Spain.

Celebrating the Arts in Burgos

The awards ceremony took place on 16 October at the Teatro Principal de Burgos, where the stage featured a red Harlequin Hi-Shine performance floor.

The evening included live music, dance performances and musical acts, with artistic direction by Diego Galaz, director of the acclaimed ensemble Fetén Fetén. Highlights included the dynamic El Trío Caracol, the flamenco company Rita Clara and Burgos-based companies Cidanz Producciones and Colectivo H3B.

Representatives from leading arts institutions and theatre associations across Spain were on hand to celebrate the strength and diversity of the national performing arts scene. The trophies were crafted by renowned sculptor Cristino Díez.

Honouring Artistic Achievement

The awards recognised some of the most remarkable names and productions in Spanish theatre and dance.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award (Premio de Honor 2025): Helena Pimenta
  • Award for Excellence: Clunia Cultural Programme – Festivals at the Roman Theatre of Clunia Sulpicia, Diputación Provincial de Burgos
  • Best Theatre Production: El Castillo de Lindabridis by Nao d’Amores
  • Best Production for Children and Youth: La Bruja Rechinadientes by Katúa & Galea Teatro
  • Best Dance Production: Ésta, no es una historia de mujeres by Cidanz Producciones
  • Best Circus Production: Disculpa si te presento como si no te conozco by La Pequeña Victoria Cen
  • Breakthrough Award: Sala “Al Norte a la Izquierda”, managed by Azar Teatro

Industry Leaders in Attendance

The event welcomed leading figures from the Spanish performing arts community, including Alberto Estébanez, President of ARTESA and José-Antonio Eguren, Director of Harlequin Floors España. Other distinguished guests included Manuel González, Director of the Ciudad Rodrigo Theatre Fair, Marián Palma Castillo, Director of the Segovia International Puppet Theatre Festival, Jesús Cimarro, President of FAETEDA and Director of the Mérida Festival, and Eduardo Galán Font, Vice-President of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts.

Broadcasting the Celebration

The ceremony was broadcast live on La 8 Burgos and later aired across RTV Castilla y León channels during prime time, giving audiences across Spain a chance to enjoy the performances. The full event is also available at RTVCYL Online or YouTube.
