At the beginning of this year, a new Harlequin Studio performance vinyl floor was installed.
Gipuzkoako Dantzagunea History
In 1987, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa created Arteleku, a multidisciplinary art centre. In 1992 they decided to open two dance studios, both with Harlequin Liberty sprung floor and Harlequin Studio vinyl floor. These studios were used every day by local artists to complete numerous projects.
The Basque Plan for Culture played a big role in the cultural policies of the Basque Government, and so in 2009 the Gipuzkoako Dantzagunea was considered a resource centre and benchmark for dance in each province due to the promotion and support for dance training and choreographic creation.
In Gipuzkoako Dantzagunea there is room for all kinds of dance, providing support to associations, companies and agents that work in the practice of dance.
Due to the closure of Arteleku in 2014, the Niessen building of the City Council of Errenteria took over and reused the Harlequin Liberty sprung floor, which is now the home for dance in Errenteria.
