With longer, lighter evenings and the end of what has been a long hibernation period for dance companies and theatres, there is now building excitement about the long-awaited return of dance and theatre productions.
Many venues are creating outdoor performance spaces in order to welcome their audiences safely back again as soon as possible.
Dancers performing outside require the same flooring as they have in the studio, but it needs to be able to withstand the weather. Harlequin have a selection of sprung floors suitable for outside use and ballet companies from around the world have consulted with Harlequin to find the perfect floor to cover their requirements.

Harlequin Liberty
Harlequin Liberty is a world-renowned sprung floor panel system used by the world’s most prestigious dance companies and schools. Harlequin Liberty panels are made from premium birch ply and come in two sizes; 2m x 1m and 1m x 1m, they are easy to transport, store and install which makes them ideal for touring and short term performances.
Harlequin Liberty panels are supported by dual density elastomer pads which are spaced at regular intervals giving uniform and consistent shock dampening. The system comes together using Harlequin’s proprietary ‘one turn of the key’ latch and lock mechanism.
Harlequin Liberty is a very portable panel system that can be used as a permanent or temporary performance floor. A Harlequin performance vinyl is always required to be laid on top of the sprung floor.
Harlequin Liberty Hire
Harlequin Liberty sprung floor panels are available for hire. These must be used in conjunction with an appropriate Harlequin vinyl floor. So, if you need to hire a sprung floor for a special event, touring purposes, a television show or for a dancer to rehearse on, please contact our team.
Harlequin Liberty HD
The Harlequin Liberty HD sprung floor is a further development of our renowned Liberty panel system, designed with enhanced durability in mind for more challenging environments. Harlequin Liberty HD panels are coated with a black polymer resin on both sides and have a textured, high grip pattern on the top surface, which is wear-resistant, anti-slip and weatherproof.
