• This 1m x 1m area of Harlequin Cascade can be laid down onto any hard surface (but not carpet) to protect existing flooring and is the perfect size to practise those variations at home.

Can I use a Harlequin Practice Mat directly on carpet?

Although the Harlequin Practice Dance mat can be used on carpet we would advise that it is best used on a hard surface like a kitchen floor.  Using the mat directly on carpet means it could run the risk of it moving/slipping when you dance, so you would need to take extra care.

Does the Harlequin Practice Dance Mat need to be taped down?

You do not have to tape the mat down, but it you want addition hold on the mat you could use Harlequin double sided tape to stick it to the surface or our Harlequin PVC tape or Harlequin High Performance tape, but this would only work with a hard surface not carpet.  For a matte finish you could use the Harlequin Gaffer tapes.

The best options for carpet are the Harlequin Tap Dance board or the Home Studio kits.

Is the Harlequin Dance Practice Mat available in 2m x 2m

No, if you require a dance area larger than 1m x 1m we have a Practice Mat that is 2m x 1m, or we sometimes have off cuts available in smaller sizes than our 10m standard rolls.  Please contact the team to find out availability.

Can I tap dance on the Harlequin Dance Practice Mat

Yes.  For best acoustic results place the mat on a hard tiled or wooden surface.

Can I do pointe work on the Harlequin Dance Practice Mat

Yes you can. The Cascade surface is slip resistant, suitable for pointe work.  For the best support for your ankles whilst doing pointe work it is advisable to place the mat on top of a hard tiles or wooden surface.  Also remember that the subfloor won’t be sprung.

Can I buy multiple mats and tape them together?

Yes.

Can it fit under the bed?

This would depend on the size of the bed. The Practice Mat when rolled out measures 2m x 1m.

How heavy is it, is it easy to transport?

The 1m x 1m Practice Mat is 4kg and comes in a bag, making it very easy to move around the house and transport anywhere you need to take it to practice.

What is your delivery service and can I get it on a Next Day service?

Our standard delivery is 2-3 working days, however the Practice Mats are often delivered earlier.

Will I receive a VAT invoice and when will I get this?
