Burgos and New York International Choreography Contest 2024

14th August 2024

The Burgos and New York International Choreography Contest returns for another year at the Teatro Principal de Burgos.

Each year choreographers from all over the world come together to take part in a choreography competition, organised by CIDANZ Producciones (Ballet Contemporáneo de Burgos) and directed by choreographer, Alberto Estébanez.

The competition final was held on 26 July 2024 at the Teatro Principal de Burgos where all participants performed on a Harlequin Reversible Pro performance surface.

Russian creator, Ildar Tagirov, won the first prize. The piece, performed by Tagirov himself, used the voice of Maria Callas to create a personal and expressive performance.
